Crater of Diamonds--or should I say MUD???

Heading back to the car with his little duckling following behind.
Mommy trying to cheer up Cate and Claire--they didn't like the mud for very long.

Brant was really not digging the mud either. He almost lost a boot.

Mud everywhere.

Cate and Claire gave it a try.

We didn't have boots that were small enough for Cate, so she just wore her tennis shoes.

During our spring break trip to Arkansas there was an attraction called Crater of Diamonds very close to where we were staying. It is part of a state park and if you find diamonds there while "mining" then you get to keep them. Apparently this is not too uncommon, so I had high hopes that the kids and daddy would find mommy a keeper. (wink) It had been raining quite a bit the first half of spring break so we knew that it would be muddy, but we thought the kids would enjoy getting dirty and playing in the mud. Little did we realize that the mud would be so thick that the kids would have trouble walking without loosing their shoes and it kind of freaked them out. We ended up staying about 15 minutes and didn't find any diamonds, but it was a fun experience. We will have to try it again when it is a little dryer.
