Camping with the Boys

Jeff and Brian decided to take the boys to Athens for a night of camping. The got their Saturday afternoon and set up the tents and hung around the ranch.

If you really look at this picture, you can see Brant interacting with the dog. This is great because he is usually afraid of dogs, so I was excited to see that he seemed to be enjoying this one.

Pink Concert with the Girls

Stephanie had the great idea that all the girls should go see Pink and it was so much fun! Brian was able to get us seats to the suite in the AAC and we had such a great night out having dinner and drinks and then rocking out to Pink.

Field Trip to Petco

We had a fun time with Brant's class checking out all the animals at Petco. Brant is really a little nervous with the furry friends, but it was still fun seeing them up close and watching the kids reactions. Of course, the moms and teachers reactions to the snakes was the best by far--especially when they started climbing out of their terrarium. Our tour guide, Robert, let us watch while he fed the bearded dragons crickets and that was also interesting.

The kids were mesmerized watching the hamster run in his wheel.

Ellie wanted to pet every animal. It was so funny . . . she was always first in line.

Oakhill School Picnic

Oakhill's Back-to-School Picnic fell on September 11th this year, so they decided to make it a patriotic day. Everyone was allowed to wear patriotic themed shirts to school and we had the picnic that night. It was so exciting because Apa' donated BBQ to the picnic and he was up at the school supporting Oakhill and smoking the meat. Unfortunately, it rained and poured so we had to leave early and didn't get any pictures at the event. However, we so appreciated all of Apa' and Nana's efforts and everyone loved the BBQ.

Friday at the Dallas Zoo

One of the first Fridays in September was so nice that we decided to head to the zoo with Zizi, Reese and Collin. We only spent a couple of hours, but it was so nice and cool and uncrowded. We really enjoyed it and Cate and Claire had a chance to get out of the stroller a little more because there were not so many people around.

The kids always want to get out and stand on this periscope to look at the flamingos.

One of the girl's favorite things to do at the zoo is ride the carousel. They enjoyed picking out the animal they were going to ride on, although they had to pick two that were together.

Cate and Claire's First Day Back at Sonshine School Preschool

The girl's were so good starting their first day of school this year. Last year they had so much seperation anxiety and the tears were really hard. This year they knew their school and walked right up and into class. They looked so adorable in their pink tutus and holding hands. So proud of my girls.

First Day of 1st Grade for Brant

This year Brant was an old pro at going to school. He was excited to see his friends from last year and take his new backpack. Although it was still a little bittersweet to see him starting his second year of school, I was so proud of him and excited to start a new year. Daddy usually drives Brant to school because there is around a 1 hour commute in the morning, so me and the girls saw Brant off at home and dad drove him to his first day.

Happy Birthday Reese and Collin!!!

Reese and Collin had their birthday party this year at Power Kids and they had a rock-n-roll theme. When everyone arrived they got tattoos and colored highlights in their hair. They kids thought that was pretty cool. Then they all enjoyed dancing, jumping on the trampoline and playing different games. It was a great party although I can hardly believe that R & C are turning 5!!! Where does the time go?
