A White Christmas! Christmas Morning . . .

We woke up Christmas morning to something I do not think I've ever seen--SNOW! I think the TV news said it has been over 23 years since we have had a white Christmas in north Texas so it was really a treat. It was too icey to get off the porch to take pictures, so I just included a few that I could get from the back porch. Very beautiful and made it really feel like Christmas.

It worked out so nicely because Brant woke up before the girls and came down to find Santa left him a boxing bag and gloves along with some of the Lego sets he had been asking for and a new globe. It was so great spending time one-on-one with Brant while he discovered his Christmas presents from Santa and his stocking. Just about the time he was finishing up the girls woke up and came down to find their presents from Santa. They were so excited to find their princess 4-wheelers and suitcases. Unfortunately, the ice made it too dangerous to take a spin in the 4-wheelers outside, but we let them try to drive them inside the house a little bit. That was a little crazy because they were running into everything, but we can't wait to get them outside at Nana and Apa's house. Then we all opened presents and were blessed with so many wonderful things. The kids really diddn't eat much breakfast excpet what they scavenged out of their stockings. caire has got to be some kind of record holder for the number of candy canes eaten on Christmas morning. We tried to limit her but everytime I looked up she was eating another one. Brant got out some of his legos and did some boxing. Of course, he and Brian could not wait to break out the new Wii games and Ninentendo DS. The girls wanted to put on their new fairy costumes as soon as they opened them and pretty soon I had fairies chasing each other and their big brother joining in the fun. They also loved their new Fur Real cats and wanted to take them for a spin on the 4-wheelers. After a leisurely morning with the family opening presents and playing we got packed up to head to Nana and Apa's place.
