We knew that we would be going to dad's house in Wolfe City on Christmas Eve, so we decided to attend the Church service on December 23rd. It was a wonderful evening at church and we told the kids that they could open one present when we got home. Unfortunately, the kids were a little tired when we got home but we had promised them they could open the gift so we went ahead and let them stay up. I had to run to the store to pick up something for the dish I as taking to dad's house, so Brian was tasked with getting a group shot of the kids in front of the tree. In spite of a valiant effort the results are pretty funny. It's not easy to get the kids to cooperate for pictures, but when they are tired forget it. The girls also opened a gift from Monga and Poppa that they had still not opened from their birthday and they were dress up trunks. Of course, they had to try some of their new dress up outfits on.
The kids all got Christmas PJs and slippers to wear on Christmas Eve. This was a tradition we had growing up and is something I really wanted to pass on to our kids. My dad always gave my sisters and I Christmas pajamas and still does to this day. This is really a special memory we all treasure. After gifts it was bathtime and night-night before our big day the next day.
