Open House at Oak Hill

Oakhill hosted an open house for the families to see the school in late October. Brant was really unmotivated to go back to school that night, but we enjoyed seeing his classrooms and what he works on during the day. Cate and Claire were very excited to see all of the things at Brant's school.

Family Trip to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm

Every year we go to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina--it's our pumpkin patch of choice I guess you could say. This October was so rainy that it was actually hard to find a weekend to go and we had to wear our rainboots because of the mud, but the kids had a great time. Cate loved feeding the animals and Claire and Brant joined in as well. Brant was excited to do the hayride and was very excited to see that they added a bounce house and inflatable slide this year. I think Claire's favorite part was either the barrel train ride or possibly digging in the mud in the pumpkin patch. Mom was just glad that she was able to get a few good pictures with everyone cooperating. I love the fall.

Green Meadows Farm Field Trip

Brant's school went on a field trip in early October to Green Meadow Farm. I am so thankful that I am able to go with his class on these field trips because I love to see Brant in his element and with his friends and teacher. Thankfully, Mitzi helped me get the girls to preschool on this day so I could go. They had a lot of animals to pet, but Brant gets a little nervous around animals so he was really not into touching them. He did enjoy the little show that we saw and helping with the hay. He could not wait to pick out a pumpkin at the end of the day and enjoyed running through the maze with his friends. It was a super muddy day, but we had a good time.

Mary Poppins the Musical!

Nana had a great idea to take the kids to see Mary Poppins in Fair Park. It turned out to be a very rainy night to go to Fair Park, but it was a fun outing. Reese and Collin were really excited because they know the movie really well. Brant was not sure what to think and we made the mistake of telling him that Mary Poppins was going to fly. Oh no! He thought that meant we were going to fly and he was so worried (he doesn't like rides very much). When you see him covering his ears in the pictures that is because he is afraid they are going to send us into orbit at any minute. Brant ended up enjoying the show and it was VERY cool seeing Mary float up into the sky and up through the ceiling at the end of the show. Afterwards, we went to meet Apa' at Chilis so we were out really late. I think we ended up getting home around midnight, which is the latest Brant has ever been up. A very fun evening. Thank you, Nana!

Dancing Girls

Cate and Claire are always entertaining me with their dancing. They love to pretend to be ballerinas and they way they kick out their legs and twirl around is hysterical. Especially, Cate when she gets really excited will just break into dance. It is so adorable. I'm honestly not sure where they learned it, but I highly suspect the tv show, Max & Ruby. I am so excited to start them in a dance class soon. I was going to wait until January, but now I'm thinking I might go ahead and try to find them a class. I hope they enjoy the "real thing" as much as pretending.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

For Brian's birthday this year the kid's made him posters with stickers and markers and also helped bake and decorate a cake. It was really sweet and they were so proud to show him their creations.

Cate was the only person who wanted to lick the beaters while baking. We made the cake in the morning, so she is still in her PJs and has bed head. Those curls get wild at night.

A Little Girl Time

On the weekend that the boys went camping, Mitzi and I took the girls for a little picnic lunch and park time. Cate and Claire just love their older cousin Reese and I think she enjoys having some younger girls to teach.

The girls enjoyed the nature walk and there were a ton of horse apples on the ground at the park, so they thought those were so interesting.

The nature trail ended up being a little longer than Cate was up for so she needed a piggy back ride for a little rest.

The girls were not being too cooperative with the pictures, but here they are at the picnic table with Reese.
